Country Crafts Guild

About Us

The Country Crafts Guild, founded in June 1983, is an organization whose purpose is to promote the appreciation of hand crafted items and original artwork. Two shows are held each year – a Spring Show, held the last Saturday in March, and a Fall Show, held Thanksgiving Weekend. We make an annual donation to the Kent County Public School’s Art Department to promote arts and crafts for local school children. We will be celebrating our 29th Anniversary with the 2011 Fall Show.

We hold two meetings before each show, on the second Tuesday of February, March, September and October, at 7 pm at the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department in Rock Hall, MD 21661. Judging of new crafts takes place at 7 pm and our business meeting starts at 7:30 pm. Members must attend one meeting before each show in order to participate in that show. Annual dues are $20.00. Show spaces are 8’ x 6’ and are $25.00 for the Spring Show (a one day show) and $35.00 for the Fall Show (a two day show). Show hours are 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $2.00 and benefits the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department. Children under 12 are admitted free. Refreshments and lunch are available and the building is handicap accessible.

We presently have over 50 members from Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Crafts include: pottery, fresh flowers and wreaths, dried flowers and wreaths, glass jewelry, bead jewelry, macramé, stone and sea glass jewelry, hand embroidery, machine embroidery, crochet hats, scarves, ponchos, knitted scarves, sweaters, hats and purses, photography, acrylic paintings, tole painting, wood signs, wood plaques, miniatures, wood furniture, jewelry boxes, carved decoys, quilts, wall hangings, placemats, American Girl doll clothes, candy, fudge, candied nuts, flavored cheeses, hand sculpted Santa’s, driftwood and shell crafts, wood bottle stoppers, pens and cutting boards, handmade soaps, lotions and balms, birdhouses, purses and vests, leather crafts, cloth and reed weaving, pet accessories, bedding and scarves, cloth postcards, paper crafts, potpourri, herbs and teas, stone statuary, gemstone jewelry, hat & jacket racks, solar lights, time out kids, stuffed animals, memory quilts, photo albums, bulletin boards, wedding and baby shower decorations, Christmas ornaments and decorations, garden art, soy candles and metal art.
